Shouldn't rely too much on Russia, their business policies are based on politics which makes it unreliable. One day you are a co-owner of a small firm, next day you're the spy and get deported and assets seized. Fortunately the transit and tourist revenues amounted to very small percentage of overall GDP, so the unofficial sanctions that started in 2007 affected Estonia very little.

the Finns were their strongest allies during the Soviet times,

Dude, what are you talking about? The Finns were practically half-Soviet themselves. Estonia would never have regained independence if the whole world was like Finland.

"Russians are effusive in their forgiveness"

Total straw man. So Estonians took down a statue. Statues and WWII monuments get vandalized and removed in Russia all the time. There's nothing to apologize for.

The riots were barely even worth checking out. I lived in the neighbourhood. Maybe there was about 45 minutes on the first night that was a little edgy.
